Metrik, the London based drum and bass producer Tom Mundell, has been putting out records since 2007 and built a serious reputation through Hospital Records, the label he signed to exclusively in 2012. His sound sits at the harder, dancefloor end of drum and bass while still pulling in enough melodic hooks to cross over, which is probably why his third album Ex Machina hit number 2 in the UK Dance Albums Chart and racked up a Drum&BassArena Award for best producer in 2020. Along the way he has racked up some impressive placements, with tracks landing in Gran Turismo Sport, Forza Horizon 2 and 3, and the Wipeout Omega Collection. His BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and a residency with the station cemented his standing beyond the drum and bass crowd. More recently he has been pushing in a new direction, with 2023 singles like "Fall to the Dust" featuring his own lead vocals alongside metal influences, and 2024 uploads including "Gravity" and "Ex Machina" showing he keeps busy in the studio.
