Metro Boomin has a knack for making rap records feel like film scores, and that dark, cinematic production style is what turned him into one of the most in demand beatmakers in hip hop. Born Leland Tyler Wayne in St. Louis, he built his reputation grinding through collaborations with Future, 21 Savage, Drake, Kanye West, the Weeknd, and Migos, racking up credits on massive records like "Bad and Boujee", "Mask Off", "Heartless", and the diamond certified "Congratulations" by Post Malone. As a lead artist he has had serious chart success too. His debut album Not All Heroes Wear Capes and its follow up Heroes & Villains both hit number one on the Billboard 200, while "Creepin'" with the Weeknd and 21 Savage cracked the top three. His two collaborative albums with Future, We Don't Trust You and We Still Don't Trust You, continued that run in 2024, with "Like That" featuring Kendrick Lamar becoming his first number one as a lead performer.
