About
Mike Lindup is best known as the keyboardist and vocalist of Level 42, the highly successful jazz funk and pop band he co founded with Mark King in 1979. His smooth, distinctive vocals have always been one of the group's defining ingredients, something that becomes even clearer when you hear him in a smaller setting. Lindup has kept a solo career running alongside Level 42 for decades, releasing his debut solo album Changes back in 1990. The follow up, Changes 2, arrived in 2023 and sits firmly in smooth, swinging jazz pop territory. In the trio format he performs with bassist Yolanda Charles and drummer John Sam, drawing mostly from his solo catalogue with the occasional Level 42 number thrown in.
