Militarie Gun started as a solo pandemic project from Ian Shelton, the vocalist of Seattle hardcore outfit Regional Justice Center, and quickly grew into one of the more interesting bands to emerge from the Los Angeles punk scene. What makes them worth paying attention to is how they blend hardcore energy with melodic alt rock instincts, a combination that won them spots at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound and Reading/Leeds, alongside tours with acts as varied as A Day To Remember and Touché Amoré. Their debut full length, Life Under the Gun, dropped in 2023 on Loma Vista Recordings and was followed by a genuinely strange and compelling companion piece, the EP Life Under the Sun, which stripped and rebuilt the album's material into acoustic and ambient reinterpretations. They even wrote a wrestling style entrance theme for Post Malone. Their second album, God Save the Gun, arrived in 2025, cementing a run that few punk bands from their era can match for sheer momentum.
