About
Minko is a band from Dordrecht, a small city in the Netherlands, built around a friendship that stretches back nearly two decades. Brothers Dusty and Darryl Ciggaar, both veterans of projects like Dry Riverbed Trio and Ian Siegal, team up with Nick Croes, known from his work with Typhoon and Jett Rebel. The lineup was completed when Tammo Deuling, of Dawn Brothers fame, joined the fold. Their sound refuses to sit still in one place. Blues shuffles, country soul, rhythm and blues, roots music and what they call sentimental punk songs all get thrown into the mix. That range makes sense given how much ground each member has covered individually, and hearing them play together apparently makes the chemistry obvious in a way that words struggle to capture.
