About
Pianist Misha Fomin has taken on one of the most ambitious undertakings in classical music: recording and performing the complete set of thirty two Beethoven piano sonatas, a project he is bringing to completion in 2027, the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death. His programmes pair these sonatas with core Romantic repertoire, ranging from Schubert impromptus to Brahms's notoriously demanding Paganini Variations. The Beethoven works he performs span the full breadth of the composer's output, from the expansive Grande sonate op. 7 to the intimate, lyrical two movement op. 78, known as Für Thérèse.
