About
Monuments built their reputation as one of the most technically ambitious bands to come out of the UK djent and progressive metal scene, with four studio albums on Century Media Records that trace a steady evolution in both heaviness and complexity. Founded in London by former Fellsilent guitarist John Browne, the band has been through a revolving door of vocalists over the years, from Chris Barretto to YouTuber turned frontman Andy Cizek, who made the role his own after stepping in as a fill in. Their 2022 album In Stasis brought in Mick Gordon as co producer and featured guest spots from Periphery's Spencer Sotelo and former vocalist Neema Askari. Most recently the band put out the standalone single "Nefarious" in 2023, tied to an animated comic book series called GodSlap. The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2024 after guitarist John Browne's health issues made continuing impossible.
