About
Also known as: Morgan Heritage & Friends
Five siblings, all children of reggae veteran Denroy Morgan, Morgan Heritage have been one of reggae's most consistent family acts since forming in 1994. Starting out with a pop leaning debut on MCA, they found their true footing once the family relocated to Jamaica and started working with producers Bobby Dixon and Lloyd James. That shift led to a run of rootsy albums through the late 1990s and early 2000s that cemented their reputation. Their Grammy win for Best Reggae Album with Strictly Roots in 2016 confirmed what fans already knew, and the follow up Avrakedabra earned them a second Grammy in 2019. The group has collaborated with heavyweights like Capleton, Beres Hammond, and Gentleman, and their 2023 release Just a Number shows they are still active.
