Morgan Jay blends comedy and R&B in a way that feels almost absurdly fun live: he sings to audience members through an auto tuned microphone and gets them to sing back, turning crowd work into something genuinely musical. His TikTok clip "Just Friends?" racked up over 129 million views, and that viral momentum translated into a largely sold out U.S. comedy tour with a fanbase, which he calls the "goofy gang", made up heavily of Gen Z fans attending their very first comedy show. His 2023 special Live at the Village was filmed in a Los Angeles recording studio, turned down by streaming services, dropped on YouTube anyway, and eventually picked up by Hulu. His songs tend to orbit relatable emotional territory, like navigating the "what are we" phase of a relationship or the weirdness of moving in with someone. He has also popped up on screen in St. Denis Medical, Night Court, Girls5eva, and MTV's Wild'n'Out, with a role in the Disney+ series Wonder Man on the way.
