About
Mosa Jazz Collective brings together the leading jazz musicians from the Limburg region of the Netherlands, with a home base at the Muziekgieterij where they gather every two months to dig into their shared love of big band music. Their repertoire is rooted in the local scene, built from original compositions and arrangements that grow out of collaborations within the band and with fellow musicians from the Limburgse jazz world. That regional identity gives their sound something genuinely personal rather than generic. The collective also runs a concert series called Mosa Jazz Lab, a platform for new collaborations and experiments. One edition paid tribute to the composer and bandleader Thad Jones, weaving his classic material together with fresh work by the soloists and the collective, and brought in guest musicians from the Danish Radio Big Band to join the conversation. They have released their music on both CD and vinyl.
