About
Múr hit the ground running when they won the Icelandic leg of the Wacken Metal Battle in 2021 and came fourth on the international stage, a pretty serious statement for a band only a few years old. The Reykjavik five piece blend post metal and progressive metal into something dense and atmospheric, and their self titled debut album, released in late 2024 on Century Media Records, gave that sound its first full showcase. The record was preceded by three singles: "Heimsslit", "Frelsari", and "Holskefla", each one building anticipation for a band that clearly had more than a garage jam session's worth of ideas to work with. Signing to Century Media for your debut is no small thing, and Múr seem to know exactly what kind of band they want to be.
