About
Also known as: Murs and 9th Wonder, Sting
Murs once rapped for 24 hours straight on a Twitch livestream and walked away with a Guinness World Record in 2016. That stunt fits an artist who has spent decades turning up in a lot of places at once. The Los Angeles rapper came up in the Living Legends crew, still runs with 3 Melancholy Gypsys, and has a long running partnership with producer 9th Wonder that has yielded albums like Murs 3:16: The 9th Edition and Murray's Revenge. He is also half of Felt alongside Slug. He moved from Definitive Jux to a major label deal with Warner Bros. for Murs for President, later signed to Strange Music for three albums, then went independent again. Lately the output has been steady: collaborations with the Grouch, Dee 1 and DJ Fresh, plus the Love & Rockets series. He is also a proud comic book fan, and his video for Animal Style made headlines for its stance on gay rights.
