About Muse
Few bands blur the line between stadium rock and orchestral ambition quite like Muse. Formed in Teignmouth, Devon, the trio of Matt Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard built their reputation on colossal live shows and a sound that keeps evolving, from the brooding alternative rock of their 1999 debut Showbiz, through the church organs and Mellotron experiments of Origin of Symmetry, to the electronic spectacle of Black Holes and Revelations and its massive single Supermassive Black Hole. Absolution in 2003 was the first of seven consecutive UK number one albums, a run that took in the politically charged The Resistance and The 2nd Law, the concept album Drones, the synth soaked Simulation Theory, and 2022's Will of the People. Along the way they picked up two Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards and the Ivor Novello Award for International Achievement, while selling over 30 million albums worldwide. Bellamy's falsetto, the orchestral bombast and the sheer scale of it all remain their calling cards.
