About
Sydney born trumpeter Nadje Noordhuis has carved out a serious presence in the New York jazz scene, working as a performer, composer, and educator while running her own imprint, Little Mystery Records. A semifinalist in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition in 2007, she went on to be selected as a Carnegie Hall Young Artist, studying with Dave Douglas. Her playing has appeared alongside heavyweights like the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra, Anat Cohen, and Arooj Aftab, and as a composer she has received commissions from the Festival of New Trumpet Music and other ensembles. She studied trumpet and improvisation at the Victorian College of the Arts before completing a master's degree at Manhattan School of Music.
