About
Necrowretch started out with the stated aim of playing "sadistic, gravecracking, possessed death metal", and they've been delivering on that since 2008. The Valence outfit built their name on demos, a couple of vinyl EPs and a cover of Death's "Zombie Ritual", which was enough to land a deal with Century Media in early 2012. Their debut album Putrid Death Sorcery followed in 2013, and With Serpents Scourge came out in 2015, the same year they were confirmed for Hellfest. After bassist Amphycion left, the band moved to Season of Mist and kept the albums coming: Satanic Slavery in 2017, The Ones from Hell in 2020, and Swords of Dajjal in February 2024. Guitarist and vocalist Vlad is the one constant from day one, steering a lineup that has seen plenty of drummers pass through. They also put out a live album, Welcome to Your Funeral, in 2018.
