About
The Nederlands Philharmonisch brings together some striking repertoire choices in its programming. One upcoming programme pairs the orchestra with Uzbek pianist Behzod Abduraimov, who was previously praised by De Nieuwe Muze as the ideal soloist for Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto, a reputation he gets to live up to in full. Alongside that, the programme takes in Witold Lutosławski's Concert for Orchestra, a piece that weaves together tradition and innovation in equal measure, and Ravel's La Valse, a work that takes the grand nineteenth century waltz form and gives it a decidedly unsettling twist.
