About
Neon River is an Amsterdam trio built around synthesizers, bass and drums, and they treat a live set as a place where improvisation and club grooves meet. Their sound sits somewhere between close listening and a proper night out on the dance floor, with Floating Points and Flying Lotus named as inspirations. You can hear the jazz training in how loosely the music moves, even when the beat is pulling hard. The line up is Chaerin Im on synths, Matteo Mazzù on bass and Pedro Nobre on drums. Im has been nominated for an Edison Jazz Award and named NRC Young Artist of the Year. Mazzù tours Europe with Oracle Sisters among others, and Nobre is known from the award winning NAUSYQA.
