About
Niamh Regan is a singer songwriter from County Galway whose first two albums both landed Choice Music Prize nominations, which is a pretty good start for someone who wasn't planning a music career at all. Her debut, Hemet, was made during the COVID lockdowns and takes its name from the Californian town her husband comes from. It earned that first Choice nomination in 2020. She followed it with the EP In the Meantime in 2022, then Come As You Are in 2024, recorded at Attica Audio Recording in Letterkenny. That one got a Choice Music Prize nod too. Before all that, she studied music at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick and trained as a teacher, so her path into songwriting has been anything but the usual route.
