Nick Muir is the studio brain behind Bedrock, the duo he formed with DJ John Digweed that became a cornerstone of progressive house. Their track "For What You Dream Of" is probably the best example of why: it appeared on the legendary Renaissance The Mix Collection, turned up in the club scene of Trainspotting, and is still held up as a defining anthem of the genre. Beyond that one track, Bedrock charted in the UK with "Heaven Scent" and "Voices", and their music found its way into film and TV scores including Stark Raving Mad and Spider Man: The New Animated Series, the latter picking up a Dancestar award for Best Use of Music in a TV Show in 2004. Muir also has a busy solo life outside Bedrock. His single "Rok Star", released under the name Marshall Stax, charted in the UK and was used as the theme for the Brit Awards. He has released solo material under several aliases and continues to write and produce club mixes and soundtracks.
