About
Also known as: Nick Rivera Caminero, Nickey Jam, Nicki Jam, NickyJamTV
Nicky Jam built his name in Puerto Rico before almost losing everything to substance abuse and a bitter split from his Los Cangris partner Daddy Yankee. What makes his story compelling is the comeback: he relocated to Medellín, Colombia, shed the hard edged fast paced reggaeton of his early years, and developed a melodic, romance driven style that clicked immediately. The 2014 singles 'Voy a Beber' and 'Travesuras' kicked off a serious resurgence, and his 2017 album Fénix, home to smash hits 'El Perdón', 'Hasta el Amanecer', and 'El Amante', cemented him as a front row player in the Latin music scene. Beyond music, he has shown up in blockbuster films including XXX: Return of Xander Cage and Bad Boys for Life, and starred in the Netflix biographical series Nicky Jam: El Ganador. His 2019 album Íntimo was both a critical and commercial hit, and collaborations with J Balvin, Ozuna, and Maluma have kept him firmly on playlists. More recently he teamed up with El Shadow on 'La Foto', showing he is still very much active.
