About
Nieuw Amsterdams Peil has a deep command of the music of Louis Andriessen, widely regarded as the most significant Dutch composer of the past century. Andriessen built his reputation on a spellbinding minimalist style that shaped composers far beyond the Netherlands, and Nieuw Amsterdams Peil brings that repertoire to life with rare performances of works including Symfonie voor losse snaren and De Staat. For these programmes the ensemble joins forces with a circle of musical collaborators, making for performances that go well beyond the routine.
