About
Nightfreak is a three piece out of Chicago that plays hardcore leaning toward the metal end of things. Their sound gets compared to Suicide File, mostly because of the twangy, noodly guitar leads, and the guitar and bass lock together tightly and bounce off each other. Up front, the vocalist delivers a seriously powerful, throat shredding performance. They also lean into a punk'n'roll side, which brings to mind bands like The Bronx or Zeke. They have a live recording made at the Lamplighter Lounge in Memphis, seven tracks that tear past at full speed and capture how fast and high energy the band is on stage.
