About
Nikki's big moment came with "Notice Me", a 1990 single that climbed to number 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 11 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It was the one real hit from his self titled 1989 Geffen Records album, which also gave us "Ooti Ooti" and "If You Wanna". "Notice Me", co written with Paul David Wilson, earned BMI honors as one of the most performed songs of 1990. Before and around that, he played backing roles in the soul funk group Sun and wrote music for TV commercials. He later went by the name Michael Mozart, and in 2003 he teamed up with his wife, singer Martika, to form the goth pop band Oppera. They put out Violince in 2004 and a self titled record in 2005. In 2009 he became Michael Daemon and moved into web TV, producing, directing, writing and starring in the series J8ded.
