Nikolaj Szeps Znaider is a Danish violin virtuoso who draws orchestras and audiences across the classical world. He is particularly associated with demanding late Romantic repertoire, and Elgar's Violin Concerto sits squarely in his wheelhouse: a deeply felt, melancholic work that tests even the most seasoned soloists. His appearances with major orchestras tend to be sought after events, and a return visit to the Nederlands Philharmonisch marked his first collaboration with that orchestra since 2005, which gives some sense of how selectively he takes on engagements.
