About
Four cellos, no other instruments, and a programme that keeps moving. NNO Cellokwartet is made up of four cellists from the NNO orchestra: JanYpe Nota, Noelle Weidmann, Corine 't Hoen and Isabel Vaz. Nota fronts the group with an easygoing, infectious style of presenting that turned their appearances into a pleasant surprise for audiences. Their repertoire is deliberately varied. It can stretch from Georg Philipp Telemann and Julius Klengel to George Gershwin, and also takes in the sacred music of Arvo Pärt, including his well known Spiegel im Spiegel. The point of the quartet is simple: show how much a single instrument can do when you multiply it by four.
