About
Also known as: Noordpool Orkest
Noordpool Orkest is a full symphony orchestra from Drachten, and it has a real thing for putting live music next to the big screen. The orchestra plays film scores while the movie runs above it, which turns a screening into something closer to a concert. It has taken on the music of Ludovico Einaudi for the French hit Intouchables, performing it live in sync with the film. Conductor Anthony Gabriele has led the orchestra in that project. The database tags the group with orchestral, contemporary classical and big band, so it covers more ground than a traditional classical ensemble. If you like your film soundtracks played by a big live band of musicians rather than blasted from speakers, this is the kind of act to look out for.
