About
Iceland's most successful girl group by chart count, Nylon racked up thirteen number one singles, three chart topping albums, a bestselling book and even a hit TV show, all before most pop acts manage a single breakthrough. The trio of Alma Goodman, Camilla Stones and Klara Elias built their following singing in both Icelandic and English, a rare balance that kept them dominant at home while they chased broader audiences abroad. Their international push brought real results: a UK debut single in 'Losing a Friend' that cracked the Top 40, a run supporting Westlife and Girls Aloud on tour, and a cover of the Eurythmics' 'Sweet Dreams' that hit number one on the UK Commercial Dance Charts. After founding member Emilia left in 2007 the remaining trio wrapped up with a best of collection before calling it a day in 2008. The three later resurfaced as The Charlies in 2011, though that project never fully got off the ground.
