About
Ochre is the project of Christopher Scott Leary, an English electronic musician who has quietly built one of the more distinctive catalogues in the IDM and ambient world over two decades. His music has found its way into some unexpected places, including Sony's LittleBigPlanet 2 and several other video games, as well as commercial work for Google, Skoda, and Orange. He also composed the score for the animated documentary Centrefold. Leary started releasing music under the Ochre name in 2001, and has kept a steady pace since, putting out albums on labels like Benbecula Records and Aura Materia. His 2004 record A Midsummer Nice Dream remains a touchstone for fans of melodic IDM, and he has continued refining that signature blend of warmth and texture through releases like Understory and An Eye to Windward. He holds a Master's degree in music and is currently based in The Hague.
