About
Also known as: Ofer Nisim, Ofer Nissim, Offer Nissin, עופר ניסים
Offer Nissim is the producer behind Dana International's "Diva", the song that won Eurovision in 1998 and gave Israel its third victory. Before that, he produced her debut single "Saida Sultana" and two albums, and the pair had formed their working relationship around Tel Aviv's Theater Club. After the win they split over artistic differences, and he stepped back from producing to DJ full time. That turned out to be a good move. Nissim became a fixture on the dance scene, collaborating with singer Maya Simantov and the late Peter Rauhofer, and his remixes have been commissioned for Madonna, Cher, Pet Shop Boys, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce and Mylene Farmer, among plenty of others. He also remixed Israeli names like Ivri Lider, Rita and Sarit Hadad, often with an oriental flavour. DJ Magazine placed him in its Top 100 DJs four years running, from 2006 to 2009, peaking at number 29.
