About
Ogham is a Dutch folk band with a taste for the Celtic repertoire. Traditional Irish and Scottish songs make up a big part of what they play, given a modern polish without losing what made them good in the first place. Alongside those they perform their own material, and the sets run from fast jigs and reels to slower, story driven ballads. The lineup is a proper folk ensemble: violin and vocals from Hilde van Rijsewijk, vocals and guitar from Imara Arends, pipes and whistles from Dennis van Meel, guitar, banjo and mandolin from Paul van Hees, accordion from Jozef van der Aa, bass and guitar from Marco Maas, and Bart van de Put on drums. Several of them sing. They went through a restart at some point and came back with a fuller sound, and the whole thing aims for the feel of a Scottish pub, with plenty of playing for the pleasure of it.
