About
Oliver Tompsett is one of those West End regulars who keeps landing the big roles, and for good reason. He originated Drew Boley in Rock of Ages and William Shakespeare in & Juliet, the latter a part he held for the entire West End run and then reprised on Broadway. Before that he spent three and a half years as Fiyero in Wicked and later stepped into the role of Galileo in We Will Rock You, picking up WhatsOnStage nominations for both. His range stretches from rock musicals to classic revivals like Guys and Dolls, where he played Sky Masterson. Beyond the stage, Tompsett has recorded his own music too. His debut album Sentimental Heart, written and produced entirely by himself, came out in 2008 and did well enough that he signed with Warner Brothers shortly after. A second album followed in 2011. He is also set to play P.T. Barnum in the world premiere of a stage musical based on The Greatest Showman.
