About
Most people know Omar Doom from Quentin Tarantino's films, but his music project STRAIGHT RAZOR is where things get genuinely interesting. The project blends industrial, electronic, and EBM into something dark and propulsive, partly inspired by the horror film scores he grew up on. Even the name comes from the black gloved killers in Italian Giallo films of the 1960s. His first release under the name, "Whiskey & Ativan", came out in 2013 on Lil Death Records, and he has since built out the project across two EPs on Negative Gain Records, a remix album featuring artists like Gost and ESA, and his own imprint Doom Vision Records. Before STRAIGHT RAZOR, Doom fronted an electronic rock duo called Doomington alongside DJ and producer Stretch Armstrong. His track "Lady Midday" from Vol. 2 landed as the title song for the film Spree, starring Joe Keery. He also DJs under both the STRAIGHT RAZOR name and his own. Most recently, a release called Casualty appeared in 2024 under his discography.
