About
only tears is a Belgian shoegaze and noisepop outfit formed by Jeroen Ernest Geboers and Lei Van Gestel, both known from other acts including The Haunted Youth and TJE. Their sound grew out of late night home studio experiments and a shared obsession with pop noise, wrapped in heavy compression and a digital Y2K aesthetic. The result draws natural comparisons to Slowdive and The Haunted Youth, while still having its own distinct flavour. Their first track landed well at home almost immediately, and even picked up airplay on KEXP, which is a solid early signal for a project this fresh.
