Oracle Sisters (FR)

About

Oracle Sisters are a Paris based trio whose members are actually from Denmark, Northern Ireland, and Finland, which gives you some sense of the restless, borderless energy in their music. Guitarist vocalist Lewis Lazar and Chris Willatt cite The Beatles, early Velvet Underground, and Simon and Garfunkel as touchstones, and NME once summed up their 2020 EP Paris I as "folky, sun kissed and oozing with mellow optimism." That EP's standout track "Asc. Scorpio" has since passed 80 million plays on Spotify. Their debut album Hydranism came out of a two month lockdown on the Greek island of Hydra, where the band wrote 35 songs and whittled them down to 11. The follow up, Divinations, arrived in February 2025 on their own label Wizard Artists and was shaped by a heavy touring stretch in 2023, recorded across Parisian studios, a Los Angeles studio, and what one reviewer called an icy barn in the French wilderness. The band also covered The Strokes' "Under Control" for a Room on Fire tribute record in 2023.
