About
otherMother is an Austrian trio that carves out a genuinely unusual space where experimental music, free jazz and club culture overlap. Arthur Fussy plays modular synthesizer, Judith Schwarz handles drums, and Jul Dillier is on piano, and together they push acoustic and electronic sounds into pulsing, percussive soundscapes. Extended playing techniques and an unconventional instrumentation give the group a distinctly organic sound that shifts direction when you least expect it. The energy in their music is physical and interactive, rooted in free improvisation but with a rhythmic intensity that pulls from club music as much as from the concert hall. Their debut album metaMorph came out on the Viennese label Klanggalerie, and since 2020 the trio has played at a range of festivals and residencies.
