About
Formed in London in 2020, Paddington Trio takes its name from the Underground station where the three musicians first crossed paths. Finnish violinist Tuulia Hero, Irish cellist Patrick Moriarty and American pianist Stephanie Tang quickly built a reputation for playing that balances abundant energy with real musical finesse. The Guardian awarded them five stars, and the prizes have followed: the Parkhouse Award at Wigmore Hall, the Royal Over Seas League Competition, the Triomphe de l'Art International Competition and the Storioni Concours all sit on their record. Their repertoire stretches from Haydn through to contemporary composers, and they currently hold a residency as ensemble in residence at the Reina Sofía Institute of Chamber Music in Madrid, where they are coached by Günter Pichler. For a group only a few years into its existence, that combination of competitive success and institutional recognition marks them out as one of the more serious young chamber ensembles around.
