About
Pam Hall has been one of reggae's most versatile voices since the 1970s, spending years as a sought after backing vocalist for heavy hitters like Jimmy Cliff, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, and Ziggy Marley before fully stepping into the spotlight herself. Her 1986 single "Dear Boopsie" topped the reggae charts and even cracked the UK Singles Chart, which set the stage for her debut album Perfidia the following year. Through the 1990s she kept racking up reggae chart hits with covers like "I Will Always Love You" and "Young Hearts Run Free", and she also stepped in for Judy Mowatt in the legendary I Threes. A long run of solo albums on VP Records followed, stretching well into the 2000s, cementing her place as a consistent and dependable force in Jamaican music.
