PARTYNEXTDOOR, the alias of Mississauga born Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, was the first artist Drake ever signed to OVO Sound back in 2013, and that debut self titled mixtape made an immediate impression. His sound sits squarely in alternative and contemporary R&B, with a breathy, low key delivery that somehow manages to feel both intimate and effortlessly cool. His 2014 debut album PartyNextDoor Two introduced the Drake featuring single 'Recognize', which went quadruple platinum in the US. His pen game is just as notable as his recordings: he wrote Rihanna's 'Work', which sat at number one for nine weeks, and co wrote DJ Khaled's 'Wild Thoughts'. His 2025 collaborative album with Drake, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, became his first project to debut at number one on both the Billboard 200 and the Billboard Canadian Albums chart. Recent uploads suggest he has stayed active well into 2024 with new material like 'Dreamin'.
