About

Paul Engemann is the voice behind "Scarface (Push It to the Limit)", the Giorgio Moroder track that ended up all over the Scarface film in 1983. That partnership with Moroder kept paying off: their song "Reach Out" became the official song of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and was a number one in Germany. He also worked with Moroder on "American Dream", "Face to Face" and "To Be Number One". The rest of his run was a tour through 80s pop. He fronted the band Device, put together by songwriter Holly Knight, whose one album 22B3 gave them a Top 40 single with "Hanging on a Heart Attack". Then he stepped in as co lead singer of Animotion alongside Cynthia Rhodes and landed a top ten hit with "Room to Move", from the film My Stepmother Is an Alien. He also had a spot on the Summer School soundtrack with "Brain Power".
