About
Also known as: Peeling Flesh
PeelingFlesh call their sound "Slamming Gangster Groove", a cheeky riff on Waking the Cadaver's "Slamming Gore Groove" tagline. It fits: heavy slam death metal with hardcore leanings, gore and thuggery in the lyrics, and samples pulled from hip hop and Blaxploitation films. The Oklahoma City band came together in 2021 from the ashes of deathcore outfit Strangled, and they got busy fast, dropping EP after EP and a mixtape or two before the year was out. They signed to Unique Leader Records in 2023, played Oklahoma Death Fest alongside Dying Fetus and Cattle Decapitation, and put out their first full length, The G Code, in 2024. They toured North America with Whitechapel and Revocation, and followed up with PF Radio 2, a set at Sonic Temple, and a lineup change on bass. A self titled album has since been announced. Their YouTube channel has kept turning out tracks like "Shoot 2 Kill" and "12 Gauge Autopsy".
