About
Penelope Scott built her fanbase largely through TikTok, where her song "Rät" went viral in late 2020 and climbed to number 29 on Billboard's Hot Rock and Alternative Songs Chart. The track takes direct aim at Silicon Valley and tech billionaires, Elon Musk in particular, with lyrics sharp enough that music producer Jesse Cannon described them as "so extremely online". Her debut album Public Void set the tone for a sound that blends chiptune textures, electronic production, and indie folk, all self produced until her second studio album Water Dogs in 2025, which marked her first collaboration with an outside producer, Max Hershenow. Scott followed Water Dogs quickly with Fear of God, released in April 2026, and has also been releasing material under her old alias Honey Morello as a side project. That project, including the album Ping :), shares a sonic space with Fear of God. Across her career she has put out two junkyard compilations, a debut album, and a run of EPs including Hazards and the double EP Mysteries for Rats / Girl's Night, showing a restless output that keeps pace with her ability to write songs that catch fire online.
