Peter Sandberg makes the kind of music that blurs the line between classical composition and electronic production, and his track "Deep" from the 2019 album Motion ended up in the season 3 finale of Stranger Things, which says a lot about the cinematic weight his work carries. Based in Sweden and signed to Phases Records, he has built a catalog that ranges from the introspective to the atmospheric, with his compositions also turning up in ads for Volvo, Tesla, and Discovery. His 2021 album Midnattssol is probably his most personal release, conceived as a tribute to the landscapes and folklore of the Swedish midnight sun, featuring vocals from Aquilo, Jake Isaac, and Siv Jakobsen among others. He followed that up in 2023 with Constellations, which turns his gaze outward to stars and outer space. He also performed at the London Jazz Festival, a reminder that his sound holds up just as well live as it does on record.
