About
Pianoduo Scholtes & Janssens perform Simeon ten Holt's Canto ostinato on two grand pianos. The piece sits at the heart of the minimalist repertoire, built on slowly shifting repetitions that draw listeners into a dreamlike, meditative state where the usual sense of time seems to dissolve. It is one of the most cherished works in Dutch contemporary classical music, and this duo brings it to life across two instruments, letting the interplay between the pianos deepen the hypnotic quality that makes the composition so enduring.
