Pooh Shiesty hit the ground running when Gucci Mane signed him to 1017 Records in 2020, and it didn't take long for the Memphis rapper to make noise well beyond Atlanta. His single "Back in Blood" with Lil Durk cracked the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100, and the "Beat Box 2" remix with SpotemGottem climbed even higher, landing at number 12. Then his debut mixtape, Shiesty Season, dropped in early 2021 and debuted at number three on the Billboard 200, a strong opening statement for a rapper still finding his footing. Things went sideways when he was sentenced to five years on firearms conspiracy charges in mid 2021, but he came back swinging after his early release in late 2025. His comeback single "FDO" shot straight to number 12 on the Hot 100, matching his personal best as a lead artist. Rooted in Memphis trap with a southern gangsta rap sensibility, Shiesty keeps a tight circle of collaborators including Big30, who has been in his corner since the very beginning.
