About
Porches is the synth pop project of New York based musician Aaron Maine, and it has been his main creative outlet since forming in Pleasantville in 2010. Over the years the project has grown from scrappy early EPs into a full band with a rotating cast of collaborators, with Maine remaining the constant center. The discography tells its own story: six studio albums in just over a decade, ranging from the early indie warmth of Slow Dance in the Cosmos to the sleeker electronic textures of Pool and The House, then on to Ricky Music and All Day Gentle Hold. The 2024 album Shirt arrived alongside a run of singles including Itch, Joker, and Rag, showing Maine still pushing the sound forward. He also records under the aliases Aaron Maine, Ronald Paris, and Ronnie Mystery, which gives you a sense of just how restless he is creatively.
