What started as a throwaway cover band for a student party in Trondheim eventually became one of Norway's most enduring rock acts. Postgirobygget, formed in 1994 under the name The Pissed Off Boys, kept playing simply because crowds kept showing up, and when they ran out of covers they turned to vocalist Arne Hurlén's demo material, which quietly transformed them into a proper band. Their debut album Melis, recorded in 1996, went on to sell 160,000 copies, a striking number for a Norwegian rock record. Since then they have built a catalogue stretching across eight studio albums, from Essensuell and Supertanker through to Sommer i Norge in 2013, alongside a reputation as a genuinely compelling live act. The current lineup features Hurlén on guitar and vocals alongside Nils Petter Time, Per Sarin Madsen, and bassist Nicolai Hauan, who joined in 2009.
