Quatuor Van Kuijk (FR)

About

Also known as: Quatuor van Kuijk, Van Kuijk Quartet

Quatuor Van Kuijk is a French string quartet based in Paris, bringing together four musicians who move comfortably across a broad sweep of the classical chamber repertoire. Their programmes draw on composers ranging from Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven through to Dvořák, Brahms and Shostakovich, covering several centuries of string quartet writing in a single sitting. Rather than sticking to the conventional format of playing a handful of complete works, they have been known to take a more curatorial approach, hand picking standout movements from some of the most celebrated quartets ever written and assembling them into something that feels both generous and sharply considered.
