Questlove wears a lot of hats, and he wears them all well. The Philadelphia native is the drummer and co frontman of the Roots, the hip hop band that became the in house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and he has spent decades producing some of the most celebrated records in hip hop and soul. His credits include D'Angelo's Voodoo, Common's Like Water for Chocolate, Erykah Badu's Baduizm, and Mos Def's Black on Both Sides, a run that cemented his reputation as one of the most thoughtful producers of his generation. Beyond the kit and the mixing board, Questlove has co founded the platforms Okayplayer and OkayAfrica, written eight books, hosted the podcast Questlove Supreme, and taught at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU. He also produced the cast album for the Broadway musical Hamilton.
