About
Also known as: Rachel Vermeulen, Rachèl Louise Vermeulen
Winning the Utrecht Pop Award in 2011 and getting flagged as Serious Talent by national radio station 3FM put Rachèl Louise on the map fast. The Utrecht born singer songwriter released her debut album Be Your Own Cheerleader in 2012, and went on to open for artists like James Morrison, Dotan and Brooke Fraser before spending time touring as a full band member with Dotan. She kept building her catalog steadily: a 2016 single Keep Your Heart led to an EP in 2017, and around the same time she joined forces with Krystl and Elske DeWall under the name The BlueBirds, performing americana and country material inspired by the Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris album Trio. By 2020 she was back with solo singles, and in 2021 she co wrote a track with Yuki Kemphees of Kris Kross Amsterdam. Her rock roots stay at the core of everything she puts out.
