RAF Camora, born Raphael Ragucci, has built one of the more interesting careers in German language hip hop, moving between Swiss, Austrian and French speaking scenes before settling into a run of chart topping albums that hit number one across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. His 2019 album Zenit spent two weeks at the top of both the Austrian Ö3 chart and the Schweizer Hitparade, which is the kind of cross border pull most acts in the region never manage. He produces as well as raps, and his work with Bonez MC has been a consistent thread through his later output, including the track Blaues Licht. His own label Indipendenza, founded in 2013, has given him full control over his releases, with albums like Ghøst and Anthrazit proving there was plenty of appetite for his blend of hip hop, dancehall and pop rap. He has kept the momentum going into the 2020s with Zukunft in 2021 and XV in 2023.
